Renae is not only the founder but a Level 2 ACA Accredited Counsellor at Sirian Star Allied Health and Hooves of Hope, specialising in trauma-informed therapeutic support and equine-assisted therapy. She plays a key role in providing evidence-based counselling interventions tailored to the needs of neurodivergent individuals and those experiencing mental health challenges, trauma, or social barriers.



  • Trauma-Informed Counselling: Utilises a multidisciplinary approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to support clients' emotional and psychological well-being.
  • Equine-Assisted Therapy Facilitation: Integrates traditional evidence based interventions with equine-assisted therapy to promote emotional regulation, resilience, and personal development for clients with Autism, PTSD, ADHD, and other complex needs.

As an Equestrian Coach at Hooves of Hope, Renae combines her expertise in horse riding to Grand Prix Dressage level, equine-assisted therapy, and trauma-informed coaching to support individuals of all skill levels in their equestrian journey. Her role focuses on developing riding techniques, enhancing rider confidence, and fostering a deeper understanding of horse-human interactions, particularly for neurodivergent individuals and those with additional support needs.


  • Tailored Equestrian Coaching: Provides individualised and group riding lessons, adapting techniques to accommodate riders of varying abilities, confidence levels, and therapeutic goals.
  • Confidence & Skill Building: Supports riders in developing fundamental riding skills, including balance, posture, and effective communication with the horse, while also building self-esteem and emotional regulation.

Her expertise in equine-assisted learning, client engagement, and therapy support enhances the personal growth, skill development, and emotional well-being of participants.


  • Equine-Assisted Learning Facilitation: Designs and delivers individual and group-based equine-assisted learning sessions, helping participants develop confidence, emotional regulation, communication, and social skills.
  • Therapy Session Support: Assists counsellors and therapists in equine-assisted therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and effective environment that meets each client’s therapeutic goals.

Zephyr serves as the Equine Welfare Officer at Hooves of Hope, ensuring the health, well-being, and ethical care of the horses involved in equine-assisted therapy and learning programs. His role is essential in maintaining high standards of equine welfare, and safety, ensuring that the horses are physically, emotionally, and mentally supported in their therapeutic roles.


  • Equine Health & Well-Being: Oversees the daily care, nutrition, and medical needs of therapy horses, ensuring they remain healthy, comfortable, and stress-free in their environment.
  • Ethical Equine Management: Monitors the physical and emotional workload of horses, advocating for adequate rest, varied engagement, and ethical handling practices to prevent burnout or distress.
  • Facility & Environment Maintenance: Ensures paddocks, stables, and equipment meet safety and welfare standards, providing a secure and enriching environment for horses.
  • Collaboration with Therapy Team: Works closely with counsellors, facilitators, and the safety officer to assess horse-client interactions, ensuring both human and equine well-being during sessions.
  • Emergency Response & First Aid: Oversees equine first aid procedures and liaises with veterinarians, farriers, and equine specialists to address any health concerns promptly.
